MYOFASCIAL RELEASE SESSION:
small groups & personal training*

  • I. POSTURE CHECK & ALIGNMENT

Our posture shows how we cope with gravity. Secondly, it reflects our lifestyle and state of being. If we are sitting most of the day, our bones, muscles and fascia adapt. Also, our posture carries memories the mind may have dissociated from or suppressed. The body doesn't speak words as a way of remembering the past. But we can notice postural patterns and understand what we need to work on, by doing a posture check for proper joint stacking.

  • II. MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

We are sitting way too much! Our fascia adapts first. While muscle is elastic, fascia is plastic. If we keep the same position all the time, fascia adapts, hardens and holds tension from maintaining a certain shape. That tension we identify in the posture check and now target to release and loosen up. The MFR session is a guided self-massage technique, where we apply pressure to the fascia in specific areas and sequences, to create more hydration in the tissue.

  • III. CORRECTIVE EXERCISES

Through the posture check we find out where our pain points are and which areas we need to loosen up during the MFR session. We create more hydration in the tissues that need attention. Thereby we can get better muscle activation when applying corrective exercises. During slow and intense practice (Yoga Mesh) we deepen and fine tune the body-mind-relation and understand how fascia is the key communicator that also aids in reducing stress.
